Drizzles coupled with speedy winds for a short period on Saturday evening though provided some ease to the denizens from the scorching heat but as per the MeT department prediction, people will get relief from heat only after May first week, as there are strong chances of thunderstorm and light rain covering 50 per cent of the State.

The weather bulletin released by Ranchi observatory centre of the IMD on Saturday predicted an average fall of four degree celsius in temperature across the state and ruled out any possibility of heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours in Ranchi and its adjoining areas.

“There are feeble chances of rainfall presently; the weather has become pleasant as crop line from West Bengal to Northern Odisha across Jharkhand has brought some amount of moisture content in the atmosphere. There is an upper air cyclonic circulation covering 0.9 Km developed over eastern Bihar and gangetic West Bengal, which has resulted in drizzling,” informed, Forecast officer of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Ranchi observatory, Upendra Srivastava.

“However, this is just a temporary relief. The hot summer will prevail for some more time. Rainfall will hit at isolated places at regular intervals in coming days,” added Srivastava.

Nevertheless, the drizzles have provided some amount of relieve from blistering summer to people who were forced to remain indoor especially during the afternoon and even the busiest streets remain hushed during the daytime as the temperature was spooling above 40 degree breaking season’s records.

April was recorded as the season’s hottest month. The temperature hovered around 41 degree Celsius and the administration asked to close all the government and private schools operating in the state before the prescribed summer vacation break. As April has seen driest spell for Ranchi in last 10 years, the problem of water crisis across the state have increased the problem of people, making some alternative arrangement.
