Intermittent showers and cloudy sky are likely to continue for another 48 hours with the mercury level dipping down further as per the prediction made by the Meteorological Department, Ranchi centre here on Tuesday. For the next two-days, the MET department has issued warning of rainfall in different parts of Jharkhand as deep layer circulation with moisture including strong western disturbances is severely influencing the weather condition at present in Jharkhand.
“light rainfall, cloudy sky has changed the weather condition influencing temperature that will drop further to 2-3 degree Celsius across Jharkhand. The condition is likely to remain same across the State for another 48 hours although the chances of hailstorm even at isolated pockets of State are very feeble. Strong western disturbances (WD) and northern latitude is crossing Uttar Pradesh and New Delhi at this period. Cloud mass is stretched over Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal and is one major factor that is influencing the present climatic condition,” said, Director, MET Ranchi Centre, BK Mondal.
Experts have claimed that another strong upper air cyclonic circulation over Bihar adjoining areas of Sub-Himalayan and West Bengal has become less marked. “A low pressure area at Andaman Sea and Tenasserim (Combodia) persists. On Tuesday very light rain with thunderstorm occurred at few place across Jharkhand. Minimum temperature was above normal (2.1 degree Celsius to 4.0 degree Celsius) whereas maximum temperature was registered (-2.1 degree Celsius to -4.0 degree Celsius) at isolated places,” added Mondal.
On Tuesday, highest maximum temperature, 29.3 degrees Celsius was recorded at Jamshedpur whereas Bokaro and Chaibasa districts registered lowest minimum temperature, 12.6 degrees Celsius. According to expert, clear sky will appear on Thursday, if WD affect becomes less effective.
As per the present climatic condition, cloudy sky and drizzle will continue at regular intervals in Jharkhand. Unrestrained wind from northwest for the past few days has aggravated the breezy affect that will continue for another few days. Denizens will not get respite from a cold wave like condition that has gripped Jharkhand with minimum temperature dipping down in night to four degree Celsius or even low before ‘Makar Sankranti’.
