A life-size statue of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, was unveiled on Saturday at the District Bar Association premises in Bokaro. The unveiling was jointly conducted by Principal District and Sessions Judge Anil Kumar Mishra, Judge of the Lok Adalat, and Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha.
Speaking at the occasion, Justice Anil Kumar Mishra noted that this long-awaited installation of Dr Ambedkar’s statue marks a significant moment for the legal fraternity. “This event should have taken place much earlier, but it is indeed a matter of pride and satisfaction that it has finally happened,” he said, extending congratulations to the District Bar Association and its members.
Deputy Commissioner Ajay Nath Jha paid tribute to Dr Ambedkar and emphasized the importance of upholding constitutional values. “It is through the Constitution drafted by Baba Saheb that the laws of our country function. We must ensure that the rights guaranteed by the Constitution are actually accessible to the common people,” he said. He called upon everyone to embrace the ideals shown by Dr Ambedkar in their personal and professional lives.
Notably DC Bokaro also appreciated the organizers for honouring senior advocates and past presidents of the Bar Association during the ceremony.
