Annual sports meet for senior and junior wing students was organised at Delhi Public School Ranchi on Friday. Chief Guest, Justice SN Pathak of Jharkhand High Court set ablaze the flame of sportsmanship and conveyed his blessings to the students. He discussed about the importance of sports and discipline in the life of a student.
Justice Pathak appreciated the immense contribution of the institution in the overall development of the students and was really hopeful to witness the students rise high in their fields.
Guest of Honour, Sanjay Prasad, Principal Law Secretary, Jharkhand Govt. appreciated the facilities provided by the school in the field of sports.
Principal of the school Dr Ram Singh took to the podium to address the students and guests and enlightened them on the need for the holistic development of children in today's competitive world.
He also stressed on the importance of the sports in a students’ life and explained the true meaning of education. It was also announced by him that in order to broaden the horizon in the field of sports a new Swimming Pool is coming up in the school and also mentioned about ‘Toastmaster Club’, which will help the students, teachers and parents to become confident public speakers.
The cultural events included a ground breaking and energetic performances by the students. Zumba dance has always been a favourite for all because of its rhythm. Further, to instil the sentiments of nationalism amongst the assembled audience the crowd witnessed an enthusiastic, yet a solemn dance to the beats of our National Song “VANDE MATARAM”.
The March past was performed. Sutlej house took the honors of being the best house in March past this year. Various track and field events including race, high jumps, long jump, discuss throw etc were held. It was spectacular to see the tug of war played between the school staffs including principal Ram Singh. Parents and students looked overjoyed.
The event was attended by teachers and other staffs of the institution.
