DPS, Bokaro won the 16th Inter-School Cricket Tournament organised by Bokaro District Cricket Association (BDCA) on Saturday. DPS, Bokaro won the match beating Sardar Patel Public School by 24 runs.
Sardar Patel Public School won the toss and elected to field first. DPS Bokaro team made a comprehensive 139 in their stipulated 20 overs for the loss of six wickets. Balkrishna smashed a brilliant 48 runs. While other main contributors were Shashank (26 runs) and Akshit Mishra 22 runs (Not Out). In reply, Sardar Patel Public School was bundled out for 115 runs in 19.4 overs. Balkrishna was among the pick of the bowlers who scalped 4 wickets, Swetraj picked up 3 wickets while Rohit Anant picked 2 wickets. One of the batsmen got run out.
Balkrishna of DPS Bokaro bagged the ‘Man of the Tournament Award’ for his all round performance through out the tournament. 8 teams of different schools from Bokaro had participated in the tournament which had started on 1st June, 2014. The winning team was coached by I. P. Singh, PE teacher of the DPS school.
