While talking to The Pioneer on Tuesday during his participation in the ongoing All India Police Wrestling Cluster Championship 2013 (AIPWCC) at Mega Sports Complex, Hotwar he shared his thoughts on professional and personal lives side by side. Here’s the excerpt of his face to face interaction with our correspondent:
Q1. How are you feeling hereIJ
A: I am feeling good. The sports infrastructure is appreciable. I would request the State Government to maintain this hub with regular sports tournaments and utilise it by involving local sportspersons with various courses related to games.
Q2. Players are indulged in ‘doping’ these days. What is your opinion about this issueIJ
A: Frankly speaking there is no shortcut to success in sports. Doping is a serious issue. Its intake hampers the bright future of any player. A player should always avoid taking ‘over salty’ food items. It is better to stay far from such ‘short-time’ strength giving substances, especially in sports. Full concentration on practice is the best way to achieve success.
Q3. Since when are you associated with Haryana PoliceIJ
A: Haryana Government has felicitated me with Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) position after my qualifying performance in the Beijing Olympics 2008. It has been five long years. Getting a job in police that too directly as DSP is a blessing indeed.
Q4. You are a bachelor with an established career. What are your upcoming plansIJ
A: See I am 31-year-old bachelor but focussing on my fitness and achieving few more medals are my present plans. Commonwealth Games and other World Championships are scheduled next year. Then, it is Olympics 2016. I will certainly marry but after bagging a medal in the Olympics 2016. Every decision in life must be taken step by step.
