All the Assistant Electoral Registration officers (AEROs) and Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) on the instruction of District Election Officer Vinay Kumar Choubey conducted a meeting with the Booth level Officers’ (BlOs) on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the BlOs were given strict instruction to onset door-to-door voter ID slip distribution from April 3. State’s first phase election is round the corner and all the voters slip of Mandar region should be handed by April 5.District Public Relation Officer (DPRO) Paltu Mahto sharing the information on the meeting said, “All the BlOs have been instructed to pull up the socks and get involved in the polling preparedness work.
They have been instructed to ensure no voter remains deprive of receiving voter slip as per the schedule. “Moreover, the voter slip distribution for Ranchi Parliamentary Constituency will begin from April 4. “The BlOs have been ordered to complete the slip distribution work by April 7. Along with block officers start the voter’s verification work too,” added Mahto
Besides, BlOs has also been instructed to keep a close watch on the basic facilities such as ramps for physically challenged voters, proper drinking water and sanitation facility, parking space and shed at the polling booths.Booth Number 272 BlO A Chattopadhyay said, “We have instructed our duties and have asked to leave no stone unturned in accomplishing the target as per the schedule. Moreover, the commission had made it clear that the BlOs will be held accountable for any mistake and as a token of punishment their salary will be deducted.”
Besides, there will be as many as 207 model booths which will have a waiting hall, tables and chairs for the voters. Moreover, the voters will cast their vote through token system. To encourage the voters’ participation in the election BlOs have been asked to welcome them by presenting rose buds.
