'Don't want to go back to village'

Aghast at the incident, the Mandar killing victims’ family members wanted that justice must be done in the case, awarding the most stringent punishment to all of them so that no one dares to take such step in future again. According to them, the life has become horrible for them as they are receiving regular threats from the villagers.

“People in the village often threaten us that we will meet the same fate as my mother and will also be killed one day,” said Anima Khalkho, daughter of victim Jasinta Khalko.

“We don’t want to go back to our village, but we are not left with any other option than to return back to the hell again, as we have no other place to go,” added Jasinta. According to her, they are regularly being tortured by the villagers through one way or the other.

“Those people with whom we have grown up playing and dancing, have also turned against us…. There is no one in the village to talk to us.

In spite of farming season, we have not been able to do much as we have a threat on our lives,” said Matius Khlkho, husband of Jasinta Khalkho.

“God knows, what will happen after the police are removed from the village..... There will be no one to save our lives, “added Matius.
