Mystery shrouded the death of a 17-year-old boy whose body was found on the bed of a railway employee at Harharguttu under Parsudih police station area on Monday morning.

The deceased Chhotu Kumar used to work as a domestic help and stayed in one of the rooms provided by the house owner Shiv Kumar who is a train ticket examiner (TTE) posted at Tatanagar railway station.

In this connection, the deceased’s mother Geeta Devi who stays close to the house of Kumar lodged an FIR with the Parsudih police station alleging that her son might have met with some foul play at the house of the railway employee.

OC, Parsudih police station, Animesh Gupta visited the site and also looked at the CCTV footage of the house.

Gupta said that from the CCTV footage they found that the boy had come inside his room on the first floor and did not open the door in the morning.

“As per our investigation when there was no response from the boy in the morning, the family members of the railway employee called his (boy’s) sister and brother who also knocked at the door.  The house owner in presence of the deceased’s family members forced the door to get open only to find he was lying on the bed,” the officer-in-charge said.

The officer-in-charge said they have sent the body to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem so that the matter will be clear. The deceased’s mother Geeta Devi said the incident must be probed as the body was not hanging as it happened with the case of suicide.
