Doctor’s day was observed at Ispat General Hospital of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 1st July 2023 in association with Indian Medical Association (IMA), Rourkela Chapter. Dr. B K Hota, ED (M&HS), RSP was the Chief Guest of the function. Dr. Nitish Kumar Mohanty, DM (Nephrology), Apollo Hospital, BBSR was the Guest of Honour of the function.
Dr. P K Mohapatra, CMO (M&HS) and President, IMA (IGH) also shared the dais. Dr. N P Sahoo, Dr. L K Biswal, Dr. Jayanta Acharya, the CMOs, were also present on the occasion. The event was attended by current and superannuated doctors of IGH, doctors associated with Super Specialty Hospital, DNB Doctors, doctors practicing in and around the steel city and associated with Indian Medical Association (IMA).
The programme commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp amidst chanting of shlokas followed by floral tributes at the portraits of Dr. B C Roy.
Addressing the gathering Dr. Hota hailed the noble profession of the doctors and urged them to continue to serve the mankind with the same zest, zeal and passion providing healing touch to the patients who come with lot of hopes.
Dr. Mohanty elaborated on this years theme that is, “Celebrating Resilience and Healing Hands”.
During the function Dr. Pitabas Mishra, eminent Paediatrician and Dr. D R Mishra, eminent Gynaecologist were felicitated for their commendable contributions.
At the outset Dr. P K Mohapatra delivered the welcome address. Dr. J R Sahoo, Senior Consultant and Secretary (IMA) proposed a formal vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Leeza Deo, Deputy CMO (IGH) and Dr. P J Roy, DMO and Joint Secretary (IMA).
