Several members of the District Board, including chairperson Shukra Munda missed the programme organised at the Collectorate on Monday to mark the National Panchayati Raj Day. Even the top notch officials arrived late at the venue.
The programme that was scheduled at 11 am was finally initiated after much delay and confusion around 12.30 pm.
“This is not for the first time when the information was disseminated late among the Zila Parishad representatives. I was not having any information about the programme to be organised at district level till April 23. I stay at Sonahatu that is approximately 75 km away from the Capital City and it is not possible for me to attend any event in Ranchi without a prior notice,” maintained the Zila Parishad Chairman.
Notably, there are 36 members in Zila Parishad and only ten representatives attended the programme. Most of them who attended the event claimed that due to communication gap, the representatives were not able to reach DC office. Denying all allegations, the district Panchayati Raj Officer, Shweta Gupta said that every panchayat representative, Zila Parishad members was informed about the programme.
