Over 20 different locations were completely sealed in Bokaro district after the district administration declared those areas as Containment Zones.
As many as 70 new positive cases have been reported on Thursday, the total count of active cases reached 329 in the district, informed Rajesh Kumar Singh Deputy Commissioner Bokaro.
Following the new Covid-19 cases reported in Sector-4 / F, Sector-3 / A, Sector-3 / E, Sector-8 / C, Sector-1 / C, Sector-4 / F, Sector-Bokaro Steel City 3 / E, Sector-4 / F, Sector-1 / C, Sector-1 / C, Sector-8 / A and in Chira Chas, Gujarat Colony, Gurdwara Road, Anand Vihar under Chas Municipal Corporation (CMC) and a few areas in Bokaro Thermal
were declared as Containment Zone and a complete lockout is done under the provision of Disaster Management Act, 2005, said DC.
The persons who were tested positive have been shifted to Covid-19 ward at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) and treatment has been started.
Sanitisation of the surrounding areas of the infected person’s home is also being done. The department is working according to the history of contact with the person. Samples of other people will also be examined, if needed, said DC.
“People do not need to be afraid; they should cooperate with the government and district administration in defeating the global epidemic by following the mask and social distancing” appealed Singh.
In view of the increasing cases, approval has been given for purchasing 60 new beds equipped with oxygen system to be used in the CCU Covid-19 unit at Sadar Hospital, said DC adding “Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) management has also given their node to provide a 40-room school building as an alternative to Covid Care Centre.”
Meanwhile, DC directed the officials to ensure the maintenance of electricity, water, and toilets in the Covid Care Centres across the district.
