Disrespect to great legacy of Congress shows PM in poor light: Subodh Kant Sahay

Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay said that “Ideology” has always been an anathema to PM Modi. “Therefore, it is no surprise that he derides ideology, as he thinks - and not without reason- that it is ideology that sustains the protest movements and enables its participants to see the hidden agenda of the so called reforms. But, he will stoop so low in his delinquent rhetoric was not expected even by his critics. In his anger-anxiety he has smothered even his pet FDI. Hereafter, will his government ever be able to invoke FDI as a sound economic measure- it will forever reverberate ‘Foreign Destructive’ as its essence in all government rhetoric,” he said.

Sahay further said that the rage of PM Modi against the farmer agitation has been so intense that he even overlooks his usual sanctimonious obeisance to Parliament and brazenly brands the farmers as ‘Andolanjeevi’. “Will farmers now trust his offer of dialogue and amicable resolution of this more than two-month long protest? His rage crosses boundaries when references are made to the leaders of the Congress. The sarcasm and derision of the illustrious names like Pandit Nehru and Indira Gandhi is reflective of an inferiority complex. He wants to erase the past and etch his own name such that it covers and totally eclipses the entire freedom movement and countless sacrifices made in the cause of India's independence. For, he has nothing of merit to contribute to that glorious anti-colonial struggle. He should take lessons, instead. This disrespect to the great legacy of the Congress shows him in poor light. One wonders if this is acute desperation,” said the Congress leader.

Sahay predicted that it seems certain that PM Modi’s fall is imminent and his expendable government's countdown has begun.
