Party launches new-age website, connects to social networking
The old-look JMM got a digital facelift with the launching of a website and hitting the communication world of ‘Twitter’ and ‘Facebook’. The party also made public its toll-free number and another mobile number on which one can get information about the party by giving a miss call.
The step also hinted a transformation from the age of its founder vintage Shibu Soren and its new savior Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Both the tallest leaders of the party were present when the ‘Disom Guru’ clicked on its official website and later the junior Soren surfed on the social media pages.
The transformation was clearly aimed at the younger generation coming up in considerable numbers in the State and the country. The urge was depicted by JMM’s general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya. “Over 40 per cent of the total voters are young and 23 per cent who cast their votes during the lok Sabha polls belong to the age group.”
The website presents the saga of the party’s patriarch Shibu Soren and his struggle for a separate State. The rest belongs to his son Hemant Soren. Party’s ideology, history, its vision, information about its organisational structure, leadership etc are also available for the click. Several documentaries were also shown boosting the good governance of the incumbent Government over the others.
The Chief Minister in his address underlined the transformation: “It is an important day for the JMM as it has stepped into a new world which is full of charisma. It was the need of the hour for us as we are considered as backwards. The job of making a separate State is over and we have to think how poor people can be brought forward.”
Hemant also underlined the importance of the technical edge considering it seamless, beyond the boundary reach and not confined to any time limit. “The elections are near and the remaining time should be utilised for the maximum benefits of the party. We can connect better to the people, especially the youths. The step should have come before,” he said.
The missed call number in the short span of time registered over 12,000 and the ‘Facebook’ account registered over 300 likes. The call centre can be used for becoming member.
