According to the DIG, since the Operation Karo – II was being conducted for a long time in several districts of Gumla, Simdega, Khunti and Chaibasa, including Ranchi, and now there is need for intelligence based operations only.  “The forces are sent to the extended operational areas on the basis of the inputs of any Naxal movement otherwise they are kept inside their camps,” said Singh.

As many as 10 companies of security forces of Jharkhand Jaguar, CRPF, JAP and state police have been deployed in Khunti, Rania, Torpa, Karra and Murhu jungles adjoining the State capital Ranchi. Extensive search operations are being conducted to finish the PlFI menace from the area. Operation Karo-II was launched in the first week of January to complete the job left during Operation Karo-I, launched in July last year to flush out the People’s liberation Front of India (PlFI) rebels from Khunti and its adjoining districts of Jharkhand.
