Recognised handicapped people in the State are to get the benefit of the plans of the Central Government. Necessary measures were proposed by the State Government for the benefit of the handicapped people in Ranchi.

In a programme organised by the Ranchi Red Cross Society in Mohrabadi for distributing equipment for the handicapped people, Ranchi MP Subodh Kant Sahay said “There are 12500 handicapped people in Ranchi district. Due to the impassivity of the district officials no necessary work could be done for the certificates of proof for the handicapped people because of this large number of handicapped people are deprived from taking benefit from it”.

Assuring the benefits to the handicapped people from his plans he said “I have asked all the Sub Divisional Officers to put up camps in the district to distribute the ‘certificate of proof’ to every handicapped person after medical examination”.

Adding to the information about the further steps to be taken to ensure the welfare and development of the handicapped people he noted “every month RS.400 will be given out to people having the certificate of proof”.

“In these camps people who will be found 40 per cent handicapped will be given Proof Certificate” added President of District Red Cross Society and DC of Ranchi Vinay Kumar Choubey.

To save people from becoming handicapped from accidents the proposal has been put before the Central government to establishing trauma center and satellite phone service for people soon on the highways, assured Subodh Kant Sahay.

There is also a vocational course center for the handicapped people in the Red Cross Society building in Ranchi. Handicapped people will benefit from that, He noted.
