The Apex Committee meeting of Safety Culture Transformation Campaign named “Kavach” at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Director Incharge RSP, Additional Director Incharge BSL Atanu Bhowmick. Also Executive Director, CGM and Heads of Departments of BSL participated in the meeting. The meeting was also attended by JK Anand, Founder & Director (ASK EHS) and his team members. Notably, the meeting began with the oath of security administered by DIC Bhowmik. During the meeting, Safety Consultant Firm 'ASK EHS Engineering & Consultants Pvt Ltd' made a presentation on the implementation status of various campaigns being undertaken under this Safety Culture Transformation Programme.
DIC Atanu Bhowmik reviewed the progress made in the implementation of Kavach and feedback was taken from the departmental heads for its effective implementation. Software applications mentioned as an integral part of the "Kavach" security programme were also launched by DIC Bhowmick during the meeting. Software applications are related to Behavioural Intervention Program, Incident Reporting and Investigation System, Contractor Safety Management, Capability and Competency, Bow-tie Application, Responsibility, Accountability, Consulted and Informed, Personal Safety Action Plan and Job Hazard Analysis. It is worth mentioning that the ongoing "Kavach" safety program at the plant aims to increase safety awareness, streamline safety procedures, enable proactive intervention and mitigate potential risks at the plant.
