The yearly two-day Mahashivratri Mela organised by Dhwajadhari Ashram headed by Mahant Sukhdeo Das is almost ready to be inaugurated by Annapurna Devi, Minister for social welfare on February 27 at 10 AM in the presence of just joined DC K. Ravi Kumar and SP Sangeeta Kumari. RN Mishra from Hazaribagh will also grace the occasion on February 28 inaugurating the all day programmes in presence of SDO Sunil Kumar and SDPO Shravan Kumar.
The hill famed as ‘Dhwajadhari’ has been attracting the crowds from Chatra, Bokaro, Giridih, Dhanbad, and Ramgarh besides Koderma in Jharkhand. Visitor-pilgrims from Bihar, U.P., Bengal and Orissa also reach to have a glimpse of the deity atop the hill at a height of 900 ft with 777 stairs.
