BJP MlA Dhulu Mahto along with seven others have been awarded one year imprisonment after found guilty for snatching a deceased body from police 11 years ago. First Class Judicial Magistrate Mohmmed Omar held the MlA guilty under IPC Section 147/ 353 and sentenced him to one year imprisonment.
On October 18, 2005, police found the body of Bihari Yadav later they were on their way for postmortem. Suddenly, Mahto along with his men snatched a body form the police and started a protest.
The court found Mahto guilty under IPC Section 353 for use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duty and awarded him along with seven others — Azad, Ranjeet Mahato, B Gope, Mantu, Bhawesh, Subodh, and Rama S Tewary one year jail, said
advocate R Giri. later, the MlA got bail to appeal in higher court, he said.
