Chhath festival was celebrated with a lot of fervour in the district. At many ponds and rivers the Chhath devotees offered Argya to the God Bhaskar the sun on Sunday evening and on Monday morning. For the festival the Chhath ghats were decorated attractively by the devotees. The whole district resounded with the pious songs of the festival.
In the district at big pond, Thakurain pond and in rural area at Sithio Koel River, Sankh River, Chitri and Harmu river banks were well prepared for the worshippers. At Sithio Koel bank the electric decoration was done and the path was cleaned by the villagers. At deep water site a Ramsetu bridge was made with bamboos and woods to go from one side to the other. In Thakurain pond ghat many facilities were made available by the municipality and several social organizations. At Tiko river bank, Senha and Kairo block many Chhath devotees thronged to the ghats.
On the other side DC Bhuvnesh Pratap Singh and SP Karthik S had deputed many police personnel to each Chhath ghats regarding security issues.
