Surendra Singh, Commissioner North Chotanagpur division, on Tuesday reviewed the developmental works going on in different districts of the division. He had called a special meeting of technical officers of almost all the departments to get acquainted with the works going on in his area and to know who are responsible for delay in work and sub standard work.
While chairing the meeting Surendra Singh did not hide unhappiness when he came to know that no one has come to represent National Highway in this meeting. Actually he had called this meeting on bad conditions of roads specially NH33 in the division and Hazaribagh district. Annoyed Commissioner immediately ordered to issue show cause notice to the Executive Officer of NH33 and has asked that why no action should be taken against him. He had given 24 hours time to reply the show cause notice.
In the meeting Surendra Singh enquired about the delayed projects of every department and directed the officials concerned to complete the delayed projects within 1-2 months. He also directed officials to complete the works being taken this year within March 31. On the quality of work, the Commissioner looked dissatisfied and directed the officials to submit a report of every work and the person responsible to look after its quality to his office so that in future when he will start on spot verification those guilty for sub standard and lower quality works should be punished.
