Denizens to witness clear sky on I-Day

The city residents on Independence Day will get respite from heavy rainfall occurring at a regular interval for past three days.

However, the MET Ranchi Observatory Centre on Monday issued a warning of heavy downpour at few northern districts considering the prevailing strong circulations at Bay of Bengal. As per the MET Centre Official, few districts of Northern Jharkhand on August 16 may receive heavy rainfall. The weather condition is likely to remain subtle on August 15 across the State.

“The weather condition will remain normal on August 15, however, due to the formation of strong movements at Bay of Bengal on August 16, several parts of the State may receive heavy downpour especially the parts of Northern Jharkhand,” said Senior Scientist, MET Ranchi Centre, RS Sharma.

On the eve of Independence Day, the State Capital registered maximum temperature of 30.5 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature of 22.4 degree Celsius with 16.2 mm rainfall was recorded here. Similarly, Jamshedpur and Daltonganj on Monday registered maximum temperature of 33.0 degree Celsius and 32.4 degree Celsius respectively. Moreover, considering the present rainfall statistics, the deficit level at quite a number of districts has been covered up in the recent time, stated the Senior Scientist.
