The Delhi visit of CM Raghubar Das could not bear much significance for those eagerly awaiting Cabinet expansion in the State as the Government is unlikely to decide on the final list of Ministers for the 12-member Cabinet before Delhi elections. Sources in the BJP said that the expansion has been deferred till the polls in Delhi that are scheduled for February 6 as the leaders want to take some time before finalising the names of the Ministers and the top leadership was busy with poll preparations in Delhi.
“No discussion about Cabinet expansion has taken place in the party office. The CM visited the office just to meet the workers and officials informally,” said a BJP office bearer adding that Das was there to encourage workers of different cells who held day-long meeting at the BJP office.
“Cabinet expansion cannot take place without extensive discussions with central leaders. Since party president Amit Shah and others were busy in Delhi elections, it was unlikely that the full Cabinet will be formed only after February 6,” he added.
Raghubar Das seems to have also chosen to keep mum over the issue and is busy with official work. Das on Thursday went to meet JMM supremo Shibu Soren and invited him to attend the house warming ceremony and puja at the CM Residence on Friday. The CM will shift to his official residence at 3 Kanke Road on Friday after a small ceremony and puja.
