The number of deaths is on the rise at Government covid hospitals too despite availability of oxygen beds and ventilators here in Dhanbad.
On Tuesday eight deaths were reported and on Wednesday morning too two deaths at Cath lab and Central hospital have been reported .
At Cath lab covid Centre a retired employee of the department of post died whereas an employee of BCCL died at the Covid centre of the Central hospital. These two deaths have been reported on Wednesday morning.
Incidentally, at both locations there happen to be adequate availability of oxygen supported beds and ventilators in both the Government hospitals besides availability of doctors and paramedical staff.
The relatives of those dead allege that though there are beds with oxygen support at times there happen to be no one to look after patients especially during night times.
Even a senior doctor at one of the government hospitals accepted the fact however refused to be quoted officially. He said that we have ventilators but face shortage of trained personnel who could monitor the ventilators round the clock.
Meanwhile, Dhanbad deputy commissioner US Singh in a letter to the BCCL CMD has requested to.provide details of the actual numbers of oxygen cylinders available with company hospitals so that they can be used regionally.
