Where shall I go and who shall I approach. I don’t know what documents were furnished to prove my death to get the land transferred,” said Ram.
The visually challenged resident of Jharia Gadi in Sirsiya block of Giridih also alleged that land sharks with the help of government officials took away two plots of land through fake papers that passed on the land to the children of the first wife’s brother without obtaining consent of the original purchaser of the pieces of land. Ram who later married to Shayamsundari Devi has been running from pillar to post with the children from second marriage to get justice and life back in the eyes of the government.
“He is enrolled in voter’s list and has voted in all elections. How can he be declared dead without verificationIJ The papers of inheritance were based on the wrong fact that my father is not alive. We have been assured by the Minister that he will write to the DC to inspect matter,” said son of Ram, Gopichand Verma.
Meanwhile, the ‘Janta Darbar’ was stuffed with complains of forceful land acquisition for government buildings without due process and land disputes between private parties.
In one of the shocking revelation and high-handedness on the part of law enforcement agencies, Kathikund police has been accused of encroaching agriculture land without prior notice for the expansion of Kathikund police station. The police has encroached around 1.7 bighas of agriculture land for building without offering any compensation to Sudhir Mandal who claims to be the legal heir of the land. Mandal had filed a case in July, 2015.
“We demanded an audience with government officials but to no avail. Neither DC is listening nor circle officer and SP is listening. The local DSP asked to lay boundary wall on our land. We have filed a case under 144 of CrPC and made station in-charge a party to the case. We have appeared so many times but nothing is happening,” said Mandal.
