Published on:

In a hurriedly called Press conference Hazaribagh DC Mukesh Kumar said that many people, most of them outsiders, have looted Government land in Katkamsandi and Katkamdagh blocks of the district with the connivance of Government officials and staff. I have written a letter to the State Government to constitute a special investigation

team (SIT) for thorough enquiry of the matter so that the culprits could be identified and punished.

Accepting the allegations of loot of government lands DC Mukesh Kumar said that he has made preliminary investigation and found that thousands of acres of Government land situated in four villages namely Khapariyawan, Dhengura, Nawadah and Pundri had been illegally settled on the names of outsiders of the district and state by the block officials and staffs. Giving example of Pundri Village he said that as per record there was 1115 acres of Government land there out of which 741.46 acres have already been settled illegally.

When asked about loot of lands in town area DC said that he will recommend to give the power to the SIT to enquire into all such allegations in the district.
