In the chairmanship of DC Manjunath Bhajantri a review meeting with the officials of Drinking Water and Sanitation Department was organised. In the meeting SDO Saurabh Kumar Sinha, executive engineer of Drinking Water and Sanitation department Vipin Bihari Sinha and others engineers were present.
DC directed that there should not be any problem for drinking water. A review on the supply of drinking water was also taken. The concerned officer was given show cause for irregular supply of drinking water in urban areas in last few days. It was told that due to burn of motor the supply was hindered.
Bhajantri also took sought of the situations of water schemes in Kudu, Bhandra, Akashi and Nadia. The executive engineer was directed to complete all the schemes in prescribed time period. The engineers were told to pass essential directions to the bidders and to repair the hand pumps those have utilizations certificates.
He told to take actions against those who have not taken utilization certificates from Panchayats. Before start of summer all the hand pumps must be repaired. In any circumstances the irregularity in supply of drinking water would not be tolerated. If common man suffers, strict actions will be taken against the concerned officers, DC concluded.
