Virology and diagnostic lab in the Medinirai Medical College at Pokhraha languishes for erratic electricity supply, said sources. Power tripping here is causing total disruption of the RTPCR test of the swab here for the Covid.
A sophisticated generator set is to be installed here to act as a non disruptive supply of the electricity here for a smooth conduct of the RTPCR test.
Principal of the Medinirai medical college at Pokhraha Dr Jyoti Ranjan Prasad said two issues plague the RTPCR test.
One is the regular and untripped power supply with now an indispensability of a high powered generator set to keep power supply in the multi crore virology and diagnostic lab here.
Jyoti Ranjan Prasad said the other issue is the kit. He said for the RTPCR test it is the kit that matters most.
He said the agency which is running the lab has been directed to have an adequate number of the kits for the RTPCR test.
Sources said this lab has a capacity of conducting 1,500 RTPCR tests a day but here come as many as 3,000 samples of the swab on many days while equally many days remain here a dry day for the simple reason of samples not reaching here.
Civil surgeon Palamu Anil Kumar Srivastav said the DC Shashi Ranjan along with the DDC Shekhar Jamuar and principal of the Medinirai medical college Jyoti Ranjan Prasad and others today reviewed the covid test scenario in the Medinirai medical college hospital in Daltonganj and asked for a sustained and regular RTPCR test with a flawless power supply with generator set and electricity supply as well.
Sources said the Central Government is toying with the State Governments to recall the services of the retired Government doctors to fight the imminent third wave of the coronavirus.
Sources said in recent years two doctors here have retired while one had taken the VRS. Insiders said none of the retired doctors are in a mood to make a comeback at this hour when there is a deficit of beds, oxygen and medicines all around.
Sources said the district administration here has brought in two deputy superintendents Dr Sanjay Kumar and Dr Jitender Kumar along with medical superintendent Dr Dharmender Kumar for the smooth passage of the Medinirai medical college hospital in Daltonganj nevertheless the day to day problems and challenges arising here are blissfully passed on the shoulders of the civil surgeon Palamu Anil Kumar Srivastav.
Sources said there was a total bedlam in the GNM building where motor for the water supply went into the disorder and the nurses off duty and nurses to be on duty made a clamour for water supply pushing civil surgeon Anil Kumar Srivastav to personally oversee the mending of the motor pump for the water supply.
Srivastav said it is such a time now for each of us to deliver our share of duty and responsibility and not to seek any alibi for not doing anything.
