A delay in opening the main gate of the central jail Daltonganj when the team of DC and SP Palamu with scores of lady cops and other officials was to get in the jail for a pre mid night raid ended up with no noticeable recovery said sources.
The two top officials of the district and their team was made to wait unnecessarily for longer minutes making every one not to disbelieve that the time was bought by the gatemen to send out alert signal to all the 14 wards of this jail sources added.
The raiding team found no cell phone, recharger or SIM card at all in any of the 14 ward central jail of Daltonganj. SP Palamu Indrajeet Mahatha said, “On the night of Monday July 10 around 9.45 pm DC Ameet Kumar and myself along with a good number of lady cops and other officials conducted a surprise raid at the central jail where the team was kept waiting for about ten minutes before the main gate was opened for us to enter.” SP agreed the wait could have been shortened but it was not.
The recovery was of some quantity of ganja, cigarettes, iron rod etc. He said, “We have decided to raid this central jail twice a month to keep things in order here and as per the jail manual.”
