Deputy Commissioner Ravishankar Shukla has ordered to withhold the salaries of doctors and staff members posted at naxal prone Churchu block Community Health when he found many of them absent on his surprise visit to the centre on Friday. Interestingly, clerk Vishal Annand was found absent but his attendance was made in the attendance register. The DC also found anomalies in the medicine distribution.
Irked at the scenario Shukla immediately ordered to withhold the salary of Dr. Umar Kharukh, clerk Vishal Annand and Shivam Kumar Das.
During this visit, the DC also enquired about the absence of Unani doctor Saif Ullah Khalid. The staff said that he had gone to visit some PHCs of the block. Dissatisfied with this reply DC Shukla ordered the in-charge Medical Officer of the block to provide the field visit details of Dr. Khalid within 3 days.
Shukla was also looked annoyed with the entries made in medicine distribution register. He ordered the BDO Charhi who was with him at the spot to submit a detailed report of the medicines available and needed in the community health center by Monday.
He gave instructions to the concerned clerk Sudama Das and warned him that in future such mistakes will not be tolerated.
later talking with the incharge Medical Officer of the block and people's representatives, Shukla advised them to work in coordination with each other and to launch a massive awareness campaign in the block as the block is in the list of higher number of malnourished children and anemic women.
People's representative made various complaints regarding the functioning of the center on which DC Shukla directed the in-charge medical officers to do the needful so that people of remote areas should get better health facilities near their homes.
