DC Hazaribagh Ravishankar Shukla visited the Irga village of Daru block on Thursday to take a close look of the construction work of toilets going on under Swacch Bharat Mission. In the panchayat bhawan he first discussed on the report prepared by BDO Seema Kumari in which it was stated that 159 toilets are under construction in 14 wards of the village.

After this discussion DC decided to inspect the toilet construction work. He started visiting door to door in the village and took a close look of the quality of work, causes of delay and unawareness of the villagers towards this ambitious scheme of government of India.

During this door to door visit he found that many beneficiaries have already withdrew the entire amount of toilet construction but has not completed the work. He also found that the agency working in the village is using low quality material in the construction work and above all the villagers are not using the toilets though it has already been constructed in their houses.Taking all these seriously DC said that all the toilets should be complete by 15th of July and those who were found defecating in open after 18th July will be fined by the administration. He also directed the block officials to book the agency and to take action against all those who had already withdrew the full amount but the toilets are incomplete yet.

Talking with the villagers Shukla once again appealed to them to use toilets for healthy life. He narrated the benefits of using toilets and said that it will be your responsibility to be vigilant that no one will defecate in open after 18th July. He suggested to constitute ward samitis to take care of it and assured that the administration will assist the samitis.
