A meeting on progress of the toilet construction under Clean India Campaign was called in the chairmanship of DC Vinod Kumar.
DC said in the meeting, “The nodal officers have been appointed at each Panchayat for monitoring the construction of toilets. The progress of toilet construction is not satisfactory. It seems that the officers and employees are not taking interest in it. The toilets are as essential as basic necessities. The campaign of the govt could only be made successful by cooperation of the people.
The people must be inspired for it. The people engaged in constructing toilets not up to the mark would also be taken action.”
Kumar inspiring the officials said, “I visit to many places myself at early morning and inspire the people not to defecate in open. The district must be made free of ODF. The beneficiaries must construct toilets themselves.”
The officials are directed to complete the construction till 25th march. The officials are also instructed to be at their head offices. On the occasion DDC Danial Kandulana, SDO Raj Maheshwaram, civil surgeon Patrick Tete, COs and BDOs of all blocks, employees of Drinking Water and Sanitation dept, social mobilisers, secretary of Nawa Bihan literacy committee, and the district coordinator of Nehru Yuva Kendra Rajendra Kumar were present.
