Ranchi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Chhavi Ranjan chaired a meeting of the District Level Approval Committee to approve pre- matric scholarship payment in the State capital on Tuesday.
Project Director ITDA, District Welfare Officer, District Education Superintendent, DIO Ranchi, Treasury Officer Ranchi and LDM Ranchi were also present for the meeting.
In the meeting, the committee deliberated on the approval of scholarship payment to eligible students of schedule caste, schedule tribe, backward caste under the Pre- Matric Scholarship Scheme 2020-21 in Ranchi district.
A list of 127314 students from 1566 schools in the district has been prepared for pre matric scholarship.In-principle approval of scholarship payment has been given by the committee.
Committee Chairman cum DC Chitra Ranjan has directed random physical verification of applications from one percent schools.
Approval was also given by the committee to approve the pre matric scholarship payment by PMT and transfer it to the students account through DBMS to Aadhaar mapped students from the received list countersigned from the concerned officials of the committee.
Project Director ITDA and the District Welfare Officer were also authorised to deny the scholarship to the schools or students if they were found ineligible before the scholarship payment.
