In the days to come we all have to work hard to increase the voting percentage and for it massive voter awareness campaign is the need of the hour.
It was said by DC Sunil Kumar at his meeting with the officials and staffs of SVEEP Cell, representatives of educational institutes, local gas agencies, NGOs, petrol pumps, cinema houses, PDS, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, banks, sports associations and media.
DC Sunil Kumar informed that on November 9 and 10 the district administration has decided to observe as special awareness days.
On these days the BlOs will remain available at the booths along with necessary forms so that those who have attained the age of 18 and those whose name is missing from the voters’ list can enroll their names.
He appealed everyone to mobilize the voters to use their right so that the voting percentage this time can increase from 63% recorded in last parliamentary election.
Talking with the representatives of different organizations DC stressed upon massive awareness campaign and for that he advised to organize cycle rallies, races, different types of competitions, slogans, human chain, cultural programs etc. covering every corner of the district so that every voter should become aware about his/her right and on voting day he or she must go to the booth to use the right given to him/her by the constitution.
In his appeal for massive voter awareness campaign DC Sunil Kumar specially requested the members of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, cinema halls, gas agencies, PDS and other such organizations where receipts are given to the customers or general people to print the message of importance of voting on their receipts so that their customers and other people should remain conscious.
He informed that the district administration is also working on this front and with the help of our associates like hospitals, schools etc. many programs will be organized in the days to come in every panchayats.
Stressing upon the need of making people aware about their voting right DC Sunil Kumar hoped that with the help of every section of the society people in large number will cast their votes during the coming assembly polls. He promised every possible help from district administration and said that from Monday onwards the addition of names and rectification of mistakes work will start on war level.
