DC, Palamu gives strict message to maintain timeliness

Palamu collectorate today Tuesday was agog with details of one episode  which happened in the maiden but a larger meeting convened and chaired by the  DC Anjaneyulu Dodde on Monday here in Daltonganj.

The DC Anjaneyulu Dodde had convened a meeting at 12. 30 on Monday. It was quite an important meeting as it was to discuss the drought like situation here in Palamu following rains getting elusive with every passing day.

Nazareth deputy collector Shailesh Kumar Singh had told the Pioneer on Monday that DC would be visiting different offices in Block A to see things there for himself before chairing the 12:30 meeting in the conference hall on Monday with the officers etc.

The meeting that was held saw all the DDC Megha Bhardwaj, municipal commissioner Sameera S, SDOs and others in attendance.

DC Dodde did visit the offices located in Block A on Monday where he sits too.

However at 12:30 when the meeting was called to order, there appeared an officer holding office of an important department quite late and this officer who had so come late in the meeting, had no inkling of what was going to happen to him, entered the venue of the meeting relaxed  only to get a sharp tongue from the DC asking him to stay away from the meeting as he was late.

The officer not at all ready for the shock of staying away from the meeting looked more flabbergasted than any slighted down. The officer stayed away from the meeting.

A few of the fleet of the officers who had attended this meeting vouched for the verity of this incident with split of opinions as one  popular opinion was that since it was the maiden larger meeting of the DC Anjaneyulu Dodde, he ought to have shown a big heart and soft tongue just to boost the morale of the officers as trying and testing time is coming to them if Palamu plunges into the drought really instead of giving such a tongue lashing to that officer.

There was another opinion that enforcement of discipline calls for emotionless voice than any spongy expression and if one or two have been asked to stay away from the meeting for their being late, it should not be construed as anything extraordinary.

Sources said one thing emerged more strongly from this incident. It is 'be in time'. Insiders in the meeting said the DC appears to be a stickler with a no nonsense approach.
