Das taunts Jairam over 'super CM' issue

Published on:

Senior BJP leader Raghubar Das has charged Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh of playing a ‘super CM’ and using Chief Minister Hemant Soren for filling coffers of the Congress leadership sitting in Delhi.

To drive home his point Das also blamed the ruling coalition for overturning the commitments made in the common minimum programme released after coming to power.

“The government under the leadership of ‘super CM ‘Jairam Ramesh has failed on all the fronts. It is not working for the welfare of the common man but for the welfare of the Congress. Earlier the party had used Madhu Koda and doing the same with Hemant Soren. It is not a sarkar but circus,” said Das on Monday while addressing the media.

The former deputy Chief Minister pointed out violations of the commitments made in the CMP that promised economic development of locals, rights over State’s natural resources, adhering to the PESA Act, employment generation, maintaining transparency besides settling domicile issue.

“Guideline of 2011 for the sand auctions says that it should be given to poor tribal cooperative societies first and then to the others. BJP Government had made provisions to share 80 per cent of the revenue generated with Gram Sabhas. But under the leadership of Jairam Ramesh and on the directives from Delhi, the government is allowing loot to take place. Earlier it has been with major minerals and now it is the turn of minor minerals like sand,” said Das while demanding scrapping the auctions going on in the State.

He also criticised companies from outside the State to play roles in PMGSY, drinking water schemes and other projects of over Rs 200 crore in Jharkhand. Das also hit out at the Minister for speaking in different voices and creating confusion along with dividing people in the name of language, caste and community.

The leader also said that voters in 2014 polls will vote for good governance and not pay heed to caste, creed, religion and community. Reacting to Sunday’s Patna blast, he blamed both Jharkhand and Bihar Governments for that. “Jharkhand is becoming hotspot for not only naxalism but also terrorism. Hemant Soren claimed that he had prior leads about the incident. If it is so, then he should have informed his counterpart in Bihar.”

Das also ridiculed Congress MP Subodh Kant Sahay dubbing him a scamster and denounced his claims that the blast was masterminded by the BJP. “I would not like to comment on a person as cheap as Sahay. No one should do politics over such issues,” said Das.
