Calling the list of achievements of the Raghubar Das Government being presented through various media on the occasion of completing one year in office as eyewash, Opposition parties have rejected the claims of consolidated development made by the State Government.
Talking to media persons, leader of opposition and former Chief Minister Hemant Soren alleged that the government was being run through event management while not a single work had been done in the last one year.
“Though the State Government claims that Jharkhand has leapfrogged to the third position from almost the bottom of the list on the World Bank’s ‘Ease of Business’, but the ground reality is totally opposite here with Jharkhand being on 18th – 20th position on GDP and 24th – 25th position on ASSOCHAM’s list,” said Soren.
Soren further added that achieving second or third position by getting advertisements published in foreign newspapers was not a big deal which could be done by anyone. “Their own ministers are not satisfied with the working of the government which poses a big question mark on it,” he said.
Referring to the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, Soren said that no one was safe as firing takes place even near the official residence of Chief Minister. “Even the government officials are not safe in the state. How will they ensure security to the investors coming to the stateIJ,” Soren questioned. The High Court has also threatened DGP DK Pandey to shed his uniform if he fails to improve the law and order situation in the state,” added Soren.
Making a mockery of the single window system recently introduced by the state government, Soren called it a single man system where other ministers are like ‘baratis’, who have no say in anything.
The Congress Party, on the other hand, also alleged that the state government lacks clear cut work-programme and policy to implement the announcements made by it. According to Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee President Sukhdeo Bhagat, all ministers in the state government are crippled who do not have the right to take any decision related to governance in their departments.
“Bureaucracy is unruly and has gone autocratic which is dominant on the government due to which despite clear cut instructions of CM they did not spend a single night at any of the districts or blocks,” said Bhagat.
According to Bhagat, despite a majority government it failed to implement a single programme as promised by CM Raghubar Das and files of developmental projects and infrastructure development are limited to the government files.
“Raghubar Government has been totally insensitive and direction less on the issues of drought relief, domicile policy, recruitment policy, Naxalism, drinking water and sanitation, health, rural development and law and order,” added Bhagat.
Bhagat also alleged that government, which has been publicizing ease of doing business on the basis of World Bank Report, has failed to attract a single investor in the state.
“ASSOCHAM has shown mirror to the Jharkhand Government. The state government had sent a proposal for the promotion of investment to a group of 20 industries out of which 10 of them, including Tata group have rejected the proposal which itself proves that proper environment is yet to be developed in the State,” he said.
