Daltonganj Rly station gets a new look

The Daltonganj railway station under the Dhanbad division of the East Central Railway is getting a facelift.

A 120 meter long space, till utilised by engineering siding, is being expanded to further widen the platform number 1.

A similar widening of platform number 1 is done at the other end called Chiyanki side.

Retiring room is being expanded with an easy to use wash room. Retiring room is booked online with the PNR number of the passenger, said the station superintendent of the Daltonganj railway station Umesh Kumar.

It's 100 rupees per head per PNR for 24 hours. Likewise, the ladies first class waiting room is being renovated with more space and a bigger wash room.

Umesh Kumar said the ladies first class waiting room is in a very safe and enclosed space.

Second class waiting room has 9 steel benches and lots of cemented benches for the passengers. It is kept neat and clean.

However Umesh Kumar said students, boys and girls both who come here by trains either for coaching or for college etc spoil wash rooms like they bang upon the door of the wash room or leave the water tap open thus water gets wasted.

Station superintendent said this morning he found original certificates from matriculation onwards in the name of Vivek Kumar Paswan, abandoned amidst flowers at platform number 1. The entire documents of Paswan have been given to GRP for its restoration to Paswan if and when he comes to have it.

Lifts on platform number 1 and 2 will take more weeks before it is to be made operational. Once the lifts are functional it will give a new look of comfort to the passengers here.
