The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched the Online Duplicate Educational Document System (DADS), which is a significant step forward for students and examinees.
Antriksh Johri, Joint Secretary, Department of Information Technology, CBSE and the head of this ambitious project, said that this is a very effective step especially in the times of travel difficulties and safe distancing due to the impact of COVID-19. He stated that until now, he had received a large number of requests from students for duplicate copies of their academic documents, either in the event of loss or damage to the original. Previously, students and their parents had to physically contact the CBSE Regional Office, where they had to personally apply on the prescribed form and deposit the required fee in the banks.
Johri said that in view of the current situation of Corona and the problems faced by the students, it will be possible to solve the problem of duplicate copy in a safe, quick and feasible manner through the recently developed in-house portal named DADS. This facility will eliminate human contact of applicant students through this online portal, they will be able to easily obtain duplicate copies of mark sheets, passing certificates, migration certificates, and other documents.
Students must go to the website www.cbse.nic.in and click on the link to apply. This portal however will give options to students for both digital copy as well as printed copy of the academic document to choose from. On receipt of the application at https://cbseit.in/cbse/web/dads/home.aspx for procedure and options, the academic documents will be printed by the Regional Office and sent to the concerned student through speed post. Along with this, the student will be able to track the status of his/her application through a tracking system. This portal will also give options to the students to get the digital copy or both.
