On the occasion of World Cycle Day, cycle lovers took out cycle rallies and marathons across the State including the State Capital. In this sequence, Ranchi Smart City Corporation (RSCC) and Chartered Bike Limited also organized cycle rally ehich started from Smart City Complex to Dhurva Roundabout and Dhurva Crossroad to Smart City Complex. A large number of young cyclists were present on this occasion.
After cycling, the cyclists were told about the benefits and techniques of cycling. Dance and music were also organized to encourage the cyclists.
Ranchi Smart City General Manager Technical, Rakesh Kumar Nandkyoliyar informed that a Public Bicycle Sharing System has been started in the city for the convenience of the people of Ranchi, which is very successful. “In view of its success, its area is constantly being expanded. The vision of the Smart Cities Mission is that the citizens of the city should accept the bicycle as a means of transport for short distances. This will not only reduce the carbon footprint, but the health of the people will also be right. With this, non-motorized vehicles will be encouraged,” he added.
In this program, apart from Nandkyoliyar, Chief Finance Officer, Jyoti Pushp and Chartered Bike Limited GM, Atul Gupta jointly flagged off the rally. In order to encourage the cyclists by Chartered, three boys and three girls were awarded to the winners who completed the cycling first. Those office-bearers were also honored who are making their important contribution to take the cycle forward.
It was told by Chartered Speed Limited that a large number of people in Ranchi are also using this cycle for their livelihood. Along with this, during the Kovid period, people have shown a lot of awareness towards cycling. Due to this public bicycle sharing system, a large population of Ranchi has made a habit of cycling.
It is worth noting that Smart City is continuously running a campaign to encourage cycling. In this sequence, from May 29, 2022, different programs are being run every day, which will end on June 5, on the occasion of World Environment Day.
