With the arrest of four persons, Gandey police of Giridih claims to have busted a gang of cyber criminals. Police also recovered ATM cards, four mobile handsets, two motorcycles, cash rupees 900 and others documents from them. The arrested youths have been identified as Durga Mandal, Sikandar Mandal, Shahbaz Ahmed and lochan Mandal, all having resident of Gandey village of the same police station.
SDPO of Giridih, Manis Toppo said that all those arrested have admitted their involvement in dozen cases related with cyber in around Giridih and cheated several innocent peoples by calling them up claiming to be senior bank officials.
Giving details of all four cyber criminal’s modus operandi, Toppo said the former used to call several innocent people who having bank account. He would then call the customers posing as bank manager and asked their account number then ATM number with its pin and threaten action against them if they fail to incorrect pin number. After getting correct pin number they have transferred their money in other account.
Toppo added that the Gandey police in charge K.Prasad swung into action immediately started monitoring their mobile from which they had called innocent bank customers .After tracking their calls, police arrested here on Thursday from Gandey village within the same jurisdiction of the same police station .The SDPO also said that during interrogation, all four youths disclosed their modus operandi and revealed the names of some people they had duped in the recent past.
SDPO added that the bank authorities have been informed and asked to furnish details of arrested personnel bank transactions so that more evidence can be gathered against them .
