CWC reunites abandoned tribal kids with family

After almost a week-long search on information gathered by holding talks with abandoned  tribal kids,  both  who happened to be brother (4)and sister (5),were finally reunited with family.

The two were abandoned by their widowed mother at Dhanbad Railway station. She had also given them Rs 60 probably as a parting gift.

Even before any child trafficker could pick them up, the child line of RPF spotted them on Dhanbad Railway station and handed them to Dhanbad Child Welfare Committee (CWC)  for safe custody.

Chairman of Committee Uttam Mukharjee and his  team held several rounds  of talks with the kids and then found  that their grandfather worked  at a coal mine  at Manaki - Khalari and  their  mothers  younger sister (mousi)  lived at Balumath . The relatives were summoned through the Inspector of Khalari police station.

Kids had lost their father Sonu Oroan earlier and supposedly due to bad financial conditions their mother had abandoned them. The family members had  reached Dhanbad on Tuesday evening and on identification of the  kids were handed over to the family members.

The kids started crying as they saw their "mousi" and grandfather.

The CWC has also directed Khalari police to search for the woman who abandoned the kids.

Mukharjee said, CDPO Ranchi played an important role in spotting the family of the kids and in uniting them.
