Customers unmindful of Covid at rural bank branches in Palamu

Published on:

Huge rush of customers in banks in Palamu is a cause of concern as public financial services in the banks close down by 2 pm every working day and that is the major reason of the crowding of the banks by the customers.

Civil Surgeon, Palamu, Anil Kumar Srivastav, had a strange encounter on Tuesday. He was on way to Bandar village when at Parwa More he saw a crowd of customers at the SBI branch there. He entered into this branch only to find there was a riot of breathing all over there.

Srivastav said this crowd of the customers at this branch was most mindful of its banking but for breath and breathing it was mercilessly ignorant. He said there was the congestion of breath here of the customers. He said there were mouths open and none had any idea as to what he was breathing. Masks were set aside before the cheques and withdrawal slips here in the branch said sources.

He said he spoke to the branch manager, who said the customers just don’t listen to the repeated requests or warnings to have social distancing but stand in such a way that looks like of inhaling others exhaled breath.

The Civil surgeon said it was a pathetic scene and worrisome too. He then moved on to a village Bhandar, where it was said testing of the coronavirus is not being done. He said the scene was just the opposite of what was blown up.  Here people are not coming for the testing a phenomenon not very uncommon in the villages or the panchayats.

The Civil surgeon said he saw just four people up there for the testing today and all tested negative. Here in this village Bhandar which is not any remote village but a village right on the road the same doubt and confusion in regard to the vaccination rules the roost here. And the doubt is that vaccination brings in fever and one is declared positive and then it is a 14-day ordeal for the man and his family.

The Civil surgeon said this is a totally wrong and misplaced fear, that fever after vaccination is a sign of Covid positive. He said it is not so. This fever is simple and nothing to be any afraid of.

He said he tried hard to convince the rural populace there that it is the vaccination that will ward off the coronavirus infection and hence vaccination be taken and equally important is that come and get tested for the Covid.
