Curbs on 7 doctors to be eased soon in Daltonganj: DC

The embargo on the running of private clinics of 7 government doctors here in the town is to be relaxed soon said sources.DC Palamu Shashi Ranjan said, “We were constrained to put on hold clinics of seven doctors of the Medinirai Medical College Hospital (MMCH) for the simple reason that these doctors used to skip OPD (Outpatient department) duties and sit in their clinics when they ought to have been in the MMCH doing OPD duties.”

Ranjan said, “This skipping of the OPD duties was not only unethical, unprofessional but inhuman too in this time of pandemic.”

The DC said there is an embargo that no government doctor can run his/ her clinic within 500 meters of the government hospital but frankly speaking, “I just do not care who is sitting where but I take it very seriously if a doctor skips OPD duties and during duty hour mints money sitting in his clinic examining patients for fee.”

To a question if the curbs on the private clinics of these 7 doctors will be lifted and doctors to be directed to find out new location for them DC Ranjan responded quite positively saying, “The administration is going ahead on this line. The doctors must without losing any more time spend their duty hour in OPD and examine patients coming to the hospital there.”

DC was most ‘bewildered’ when he said, “We discovered a fake doctor. He had no degree but was masquerading as a dermatologist. No government doctor ever took care to bring this fraud to our notice.”

The fake doctor has been caught and sent in judicial remand said SDPO Sandip Kumar Gupta.
