Underscoring the significance of rural participation in project planning, the Ranchi district administration has decided to take popular routes to awareness and bring more people on board NDA’s flagship scheme ‘Yojna Banao Abhiyan’.

A series of street plays are in the offing to educate people about the importance of participation in a series of activity that has been started to incorporate villagers’ priority of projects in their villages. The views thus collected would be compiled into a report which will be sent to the central Government for budgetary provisions.

The awareness drive would be undertaken by group of artists registered with the District Public Relations Office. The group would be organising plays in Tamar block from January 16-18 and subsequently it will venture into the remote areas of Bundu block to enlighten people from January 19-21. The awareness drive has been completed in Ratu, Bero, Nagri, Sonahatu, Kanke and Burhmu blocks of Ranchi district.

The Rural Development department has sanctioned funds for the campaign thus making the district administration to swing in action. According to sources, Ranchi Deputy Development Commissioner, Birendra Singh, has asked all block development officers to prepare work plan for ‘Yojna Banao Abhiyan’ and submit the plan by January 17. Notably, the State Government has set the deadline of February 28 for completing the exercise.

Meanwhile, the administration would also start awareness campaign from January 13-16 to educate people of Ranchi about environment conservation and cleanliness.
