On Friday, late in the evening, a youth raped a minor girl in the Muffasil police station area of Hazaribagh. Police arrested the culprit and sent him to jail on Saturday noon as per court order.
According to statement of the relative of the victim, the 12 years old girl was returning to her residence in the evening. A youth named Md. Naseem caught her near Silwar village of the sadar block and forcibly took her towards the Silwar hill forest area and raped her.
At night when the victim came back she narrated the whole story to her family members, who immediately reported the incident to the Muffasil police station. After registering the case, police team rushed to the site and enquired the about the events. It became clear that the accused is of neighboring village and his name is Md. Naseem. Police then raided his residence and arrested the culprit.
On Saturday morning police brought the girl to Sadar hospital for medical checkup and then produced her before the court where her statement under sections 164 were recorded.
The officer in charge of Muffasil police station, Suman Kumar said that we have arrested the accused and sent him to Hazaribagh central jail on Saturday. He further said that we will investigate the matter thoroughly and submit the chargesheet as early as possible in the court.
