Taking a slew of measures in his inimitable style Chief Secretary in-charge Sajal Chakraverty said on Tuesday that he would begin surprise inspection of health facilities from tomorrow to find out the status of basic health facilities in the State. The newly appointed CS in-charge said that it was the first step towards oiling the administrative machinery of the state and similar initiatives would follow very soon.
“I will begin some surprise inspections from tomorrow beginning from medical institutions that will include rural health facilities, hospitals at districts and sub divisions, municipal hospital and medical colleges. I will not go very deep during the exercise. I will just see two things — whether the basic facilities needed at a particular health institution are present or not and secondly, whether the Doctors and paramedics are available there or not,” he said addressing
media persons at his project building office.
“Director, Health Services will accompany me. He is providing me the list of material and human resources that should be available at a particular health centre. The inspection will be conducted during day and night, he said, adding that the inspection of blocks and circle offices would begin after a couple of days. The CS in-charge also said that a proposal for formation of a high -level committee on the issue of conversion of affiliated colleges into constituent colleges has been forwarded to the Chief Minister. The proposal is of making a five-member committee headed by Director of Sri Krishna Institute of Public Administration (SKIPA) Dr AK Pandey with
members including Director Higher Education and three academicians, who would be retired Vice Chancellors.
The committee would decide in 40 days on whether the affiliate colleges could be made constituent colleges and if not then how could the State Government aide them to improve the work culture and service conditions of employees there.
Chakraverty also revealed that a three-member committee has been formed to prepare the Master plan
for SKIPA.
“The Master plan would look into the requirements and shape of the premier administrative training institution in future. We have been neglecting officers’ training part in Jharkhand. If we bring more lecturers and spend money in training it will bear fruits in the future. We had a meeting on the issue yesterday and about 100 acres of land may be searched for a permanent and huge campus of SKIPA near the institutional area in Sukurhuttu,” he said.
The Committee will be headed by former Chief Secretary PP Sharma with two other members Director of SKIPA Dr AK Pandey and Finance Secretary AP Singh. The committee will give its recommendations on a phase wise manner in 15 days, two months and three months respectively, Chakraverty informed.
The CS in-charge also expressed the government's willingness to change the way it pays homage to martyrs. “We pay salute to martyred security personnel at JAP but I thing we should identify a place at the heart
