The creation of necessary infrastructure in rural areas will prove to be a boom in removal of rural poverty. With an aim to generate sustainable employment opportunities several programmes must be implemented effectively and timely. The technical spheres of Jharkhand must also be strengthened. Chief Secretary RS Sharma said this today at a review meeting of the Rural Development Department.

Chief Secretary said that digitization is important to maintain transparency in rural areas.  There should be a monitoring system of all workers in MNREGA to analyse the workforce to make sure that no work remains pending. He directed to devise strategies for the payment of wages on time as per the job description of the workers.

CS laid stress on formulating payment through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode. The Account number and the Aadhar card must be seeded in targeted timeframe for DBT, he added. Chief operating officer, JSlPS, Bishnu Charan Parida presented the NRlM progress report. The induction session of recently absorbed employees has been completed. The strengthening and formation of SHG has registered considerable progress.
