Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba presided over the meeting that was held to organise the regional Saras Mela on December 27. There was a State-level meet wherein secretary-rank officials from various departments and Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board officials held, too.
“Additional police forces will be deployed and traffic will be strengthened. Women police should also be deployed with additional police forces on holidays,” Gauba said.
It was also decided in the meeting that 200 stalls including khadi, handicraft and bank stalls will be installed in the fair. Three mobile toilets will be arranged for the fair.
It was also discussed in the meeting that the fair will be promoted on large scale in order to inform the people about the various schemes run by the Government.
Meanwhile, to avoid revenue deficit, Gauba directed the Energy Department to complete the process of changing dysfunctional and phase three meters in Government offices and housing premises at Dumka and Medininagar within 15 days.
The Energy Department informed Gauba that the department has changed 568 meters from 621 dysfunctional meters in government premises in the capital. Out of the 1189 meters in Government buildings, 1037 are in running condition and the remaining 152 phase three meters are in the process of being changed. Instead of average billing, true meter reading is being done in these buildings.
Gauba had instructed the dysfunctional and phase three meters to be changed by the Chief Secretary in July 2015.
