CRPF in latehar faces heat of public, police

It is two FIRs with the Barwadeeh police station in latehar district that keep  the police working on two fronts the CRPF and the protesters.

The first FIR was lodged on May 11 by a father of a minor girl against two jawans of the CRPF  of the 112 battalion which is based in Betla accusing the two jawans of the CRPF of making an  attempt to outrage his daughter’s modesty on May 10.

SP latehar Ajay linda has confirmed this lodging of the FIR against two jawans of the CRPF  with the Barwadeeh police station saying the matter is under police investigation and no one  should have any doubt of police going any soft on the CRPF as if in investigation the  allegation against the CRPF cops comes true the law will take its own course.

The second FIR was lodged by the Barwadeeh police on May 15 against road jammers. The Kutmu Barwadeeh road was blocked by the residents and the cadres of the CPI Ml demanding arrest of the two jawans of the CRPF.

The officer in charge of the Barwadeeh police station Dhananjay Prasad has confirmed this FIR against road blockers saying two CPI Ml leaders Kanhai Singh and Birju Ram figure in the FIR along with 30 to 40 unknown people.

SP latehar linda said ‘ There is no justification behind road blocking which is third in a row over this issue as the police are investigating it quite dispassionately’.

linda said it was the police that asked the alleged victim family to lodge the FIR which speaks volumes that the police made no attempt to hush up this case against the CRPF. The SP said the occurrence is of May 10 and the FIR was given by the family on May 11. linda said the minor girl was taking water when spotting a sniffer dog of the CRPF roaming free ran towards an abandoned toilet where it is alleged one CRPF jawan tried to grope her.
